The Pilates Method

Pilates is a controlled form of body movement exercise. Through the use of mats and specialized equipment, one creates improved posture and increased muscle tone without increased bulk. Pilates is a safe way to complement an already active lifestyle, whether sport, cardiovascular exercise, life, or injury. Pilates focuses on strengthening core musculature, muscles surrounding the spine and abdomen. Breathing and body awareness are important factors that aid in the firing of appropriate muscles.
