Getting Started

To benefit from pilates, workouts should occur a minimum of twice per week. The literature states that you will feel differently after 10 sessions, and notice changes in your body after 20 sessions.

Most people who begin pilates have no prior experience, that is okay! Pilates is an exercise regime that allows continual growth. A strong foundation of pilates’ principles and methods is the key to success.  The path taken depends on the individual’s personal performance goals.  At Sole to Soul a beginner may choose between an introductory package (see description) or Private Sessions.

Sessions

Orientation
The orientation session will last approximately one hour and 15 minutes. The session includes a thorough postural analysis, establishment of personal goals, and a discussion of medical history and limitations. It is recommended that this is a private. A personal training regimen will be established and clients will begin to learn and perform pilates exercises.

Privates
Individual training sessions lasting 55 minutes. These sessions are intense and hands on; designed to develop maximal skill. The sessions are individualized to meet the goals and expectations of each client according to his specific needs. It is here that one will achieve their fullest potential. It is recommended that one enrolls in a private session (or Beginner Workshop) prior to joining a group session.

Duo
Two clients share a 55 minute session. Both students are given a specific regimen, however this sessions moves at a faster pace. It is necessary that the students have a strong background of pilates principles and methods as well as flexibility to work with others’ schedule. This session will incorporate both mat and equipment exercise.

Group
This session will consist of up to six clients and last 55 minutes. A group setting is challenging, fun and fast-paced, yet less intense than a private or duo session. This session will allow development of thorough pilates background. Here, increased skill is proportional to personal motivation. This session will include both mat and equipment exercise. The client must have completed at least 3 privates or completed the Beginners Workshop prior to participating in a group session. Please see calendar for scheduling.
